2008 AEA Engineer Regimental Integration & Training Conference

Registration:

Attendees may register online for both the St. Louis and Fort Leonard Wood portions of the conference. St. Louis portion online registration closes at 1700 EST, April 30th. On-site registration will open May 4th at the conference hotel in St. Louis..

Overview:

The Army Engineer Association will host the Senior Leaders of the U.S. Army Engineer community at the 2008 Engineer Regimental Integration & Training Conference in the St. Louis America's Center, May 4 thru 6, to lead off the event. Industry exhibits will compliment the military / government / industry training presentations in St. Louis. The conference sessions continue at Fort Leonard Wood, May 7 thru 9, and will be hosted by the Commandant of the U.S. Army Engineer School. AEA will host the awards luncheon for the Best Sapper Team competition on Thursday, 8 May. This will be the most extensive gathering of Army engineers during 2008. Participation is open to the entire Army Engineer Community, including military, civilian and industry partners as follows:

Agenda (Tentative) & Administration:

Military / Government Program: The U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, joined by the Commander, Maneuver Support Center, and Commandant of the Engineer School will highlight a series of presentations focused on warfighting, lessons learned and requirements. Target participants are key engineer leaders of engineer units and retirees.

AEA Industry Program: This program offers a valuable venue for individuals, business executives, universities and researchers to learn about many current Army programs. Presentations are scheduled to focus on Army Civil Works, Military Construction related to Army transformation and growth, installation support and homeland engineering requirements, along with various materiel issues. Invited Industry program speakers include Hon. J.P. Woodley, LTG Van Antwerp, MG Riley, MG Temple, MG McCoy, BG Martin, COL Hornack, COL Tabacchi, and LTC Wall. COL (Ret) Ed Gibson wil make a presentation pertaining to transition of military personnel to civilian life. AEA will also present a Vendor Exposition during the conference.

Uniform throughout the conference is "duty" for military attendees, and business casual for all others. For all socials, the uniform is business casual except the Regimental Ball at Fort leonard Wood which is mess blue / dress blue for military and formal / business suit for civilians.

Lodging:

As in prior years, lodging in St. Louis will be at the Hilton at the Ballpark located adjacent to Busch Stadium. AEA has acquired a block of outstanding room accommodations with specials rates available from May 4-6, with early arrival on May 3rd possible pending room availability. Lodging in the Fort Leonard Wood area will be available at nearby motels; however, arrangements must be made directly with the motel selected.
